Fortune favors the brave

I frequently talk with my students (and frankly, myself) about having the courage to believe in themselves and their talent enough to audition. Interestingly, I have noticed that most of the people I have this conversation with are above average, definitively talented students/singers who, for a multitude of reasons (both known and unknown), feel unequal

I was inspired to write this post in December, but life happened, so March it is! At Christmas time I always watch the wonderful holiday classic, The Bishop’s Wife, the 1947 film starring Cary Grant as the angel, and David Niven as the Bishop. As it turns out, when they started filming, the roles were
